Some Squared Error (SSE), is a blog about the kind of data science that doesn’t need a degree in abstract maths to understand. We aim to show how data science can provide insight into social, political and economic issues in a meaningful way. Whilst we enjoy using advanced analytics methods to solve problems, we believe that the key to any project is providing analysis that can be understood by many people and hopefully provide food for thought on current affairs.

The sum of squared errors is a commonly used measure of how well a statistical model fits to observed data. We chose our name to reflect the complicated nature of data science that may not always provide unquestionable solutions, but will (hopefully) always provide insight and direction in a chaotic world
